$33.2M in CH-47 Chinook Contracts

The U.S. Department of Defense has recently issued contracts related to the maintenance or upgrade of its CH-47 Chinook medium transport helicopters, even as related contracts like the M240H machine gun update their associated weapons. In the last 2 days, the U.S. Department of Defense has issued $33.2 million in delivery orders from $105.9 million in contracts to replace and maintain the CH-47 fleet. These contracts were issued by the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command in Redstone Arsenal, AL.

Honeywell International Inc., Tempe, AZ received a delivery order amount of $23.5 million as part of a $48.7 million firm-fixed-price, sole-source contract (W58RGZ-04-D-0215) for commercial maintenance and overhaul of the CH-47D’s T55-GA-714A engine. Work will be performed in Greer, SC (90%), and Tempe, AZ (10%), and is expected to be complete by Sept. 30, 2009.

Small business qualifier Transaero Inc. of Woodbury Park, NY won a delivery-order amount of $5.4 million as part of a $27.7 million firm-fixed-price contract (W58RGZ-05-D-0250) for servocylinders. Work will be performed in East Lyme, CT and is expected to be completed by Mar. 31, 2010. There were three bids solicited on May 9, 2004, and one bid was received.

Small business qualifier Arkwin Industries Inc. of Westbury, NY won a delivery order amount of $2.7 million as part of a $20.7 million firm-fixed-price contract (W58RGZ-05-D-0218) for Hy Reservoir Collers for the Chinook Aircraft. Work will be performed in Westbury, NY and is expected to be complete by March 31, 2010. There were two bids solicited on April 19, 2004, and one bid was received.

Lord Corp. in Erie, PA won a delivery order amount of $1.6 million as part of an $8.8 million firm-fixed-price contract (W58RGZ-05-D-0248) for Plain Bearing Rods for the CH-47 Airframe. Work will be performed in Erie, PA and is expected to be complete by December 2010. There were three bids solicited on Feb. 17, 2004, and one bid was received.
