CH-47 helicopters are very popular internationally as well, and are in high demand due to their load-carrying ability and proficiency in “hot and high” conditions like Afghanistan or parts of the Middle East, which really lower normal helicopter performance.
The Army Aviation and Missile Command in Redstone Arsenal, AL recently issued 6 delivery orders a as part of firm-fixed-price contract # DAAH23-02-D-0307, covering spare parts for the Chinook Helicopter System. DID has covered a previous set of awards under this contract before, worth 119.4 million. All delivery orders are to Boeing Helicopter in Ridley Park, PA. They total just over $300 million, and include:
