Lockheed Martin Corp. Maritime Systems and Sensors, Manassas, Va., is being awarded a $70.5 million cost-plus incentive-fee/ award-fee modification to previously awarded contract N00024-04-C-6207 for the Acoustic Rapid Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) Insertion (A-RCI) program production. The contractor will produce six AN/BQQ-10(V) sonar systems; one AN/BQQ-10(V4) sonar system and economic order quantity material for three AN/BQQ-10(V4) sonar systems for SSN 774 Virginia Class submarines; and, six Executive Workstations (EWS).
A-RCI is a sonar system upgrade installed on SSN 688 and SSN 688I Los Angeles Class attack submarines, SSN 21 Seawolf Class attack submarines, SSBN 726 Ohio Class ballistic missile submarines, and SSGN 726 Tactical Trident special operations submarines. AN/BQQ-10(V4) is the sonar system installed on SSN 774 Virginia Class submarines.
EWS are network connected remote displays installed in Commanding Officer and Executive Officer staterooms and wardrooms to support remote displaying of tactical data and data management; they are used in combat control upgrades, and are installed on most submarine classes.
Work will be performed in Manassas, VA (40%); Portsmouth, RI (26%); Clearwater, FL (17%); Chantilly, VA (4%); Syracuse, NY (3%); Chelmsford, MA (2%); St. Louis, MO (2%); Houston, TX (2%); and others (4%), and is expected to be complete by March 2008. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., issued the contract.
