Caterpillar Incorporated Defense and Federal Products in Peoria, IL received a $23.7 million fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/ indefinite-quantity contract for FFG-7 Oliver Hazard Perry Class frigates’ ship’s service diesel engines, training, spare parts and related technical and logistics data. The ship’s service diesel engines will replace existing engines on FFG-7 Class ships, and provide increased performance over existing engines.
Work will be performed in East Lafayette, IN and is expected to be complete by January 2012. The contract was competitively procured and advertised via the Internet, with 1 proposal received by the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division in Philadelphia, PA (N65540-07-D-0001).
