Under this recent contract modification, IAP-Hill will perform scheduled maintenance of base facilities, utilities, environmental, transportation, and fire alarm systems located at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Naval Station Mayport, and the surrounding region…

Naval Air Station Jacksonville is the 3rd largest naval installation in the United States, notes GlobalSecurity.org. It occupies 3,896 acres along the St. Johns River and employs more than 23,000 active duty and civilian personnel.

NAS Jacksonville hosts the Patrol Wing Eleven, the southern component of the Atlantic Fleet P-3C force, and VP-30, the Fleet Replacement Squadron for that aircraft. The installation also hosts Sea Control Wing Atlantic and its 5 squadrons of S-3B aircraft, Helicopter Antisubmarine Wing Atlantic, and 5 squadrons of SH-60/HH-60 helicopters.

Also located on the St. Johns River, where it empties into the Atlantic Ocean, Naval Station Mayport occupies 3,400 acres and hosts more than 80 tenant commands, including 22 naval ships and six Light Airborne Multi-purpose System (LAMPS) Mark III helicopter squadrons. NS Mayport is also the operational and training headquarters for the SH-60B Seahawk LAMPS MKIII with a primary mission of anti-submarine warfare.

IAP-Hill expects to complete the work under this contract modification by Sept 30/10. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southeast in Jacksonville, FL manages the contract.
