UH-1Y (top), AH-1Z Bell Helicopter Textron Inc. in Fort Worth, TX received a $30.2 million ceiling-priced order under previously awarded contract to repair of the US Marines’ AH-1W Super Cobra attack helicopters and UH-1N Huey utility helicopters. These in-service versions of the Marines’ tactical helicopter mainstays will eventually be replaced by new-build AH-1Z and UH-1Y versions. Work on these repairs will be performed in Fort Worth, TX, and is expected to be complete by December 2006. This contract was not competitively procured (Bell Helicopter Textron Inc. is the helicopters’ manufacturer). The Naval Inventory Control Point issued the order (Order 7004, contract # N00383-04-G-025N).
