Ch-47 Refurbishment Engages The Transmission

DID has covered the U.S. Army’s ongoing efforts to maintain, refurbish and upgrade its medium-lift CH-47 helicopter fleet. The U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command in Redstone Arsenal, AL has issued a series of delivery orders for mechanical transmissions and rotary wings worth a combined $60.4 million, as part of various firm-fixed-price, sole source contracts to Boeing Helicopter in Ridley Park, PA worth a total of $119.4 million.
While order amounts, completion dates and contract amounts vary, all orders were placed under contract designation DAAH23-02-D-0307.
A delivery order amount of $21.8 million as part of a $44.4 million contract for CH-47 mechanical transmissions. Work will be performed in Ridley Park, PA and is expected to be complete by Oct. 30, 2008.
A delivery order amount of $13.7 million as part of a $28 million contract for CH-47 mechanical transmissions. Work will be performed in Ridley Park, PA and is expected to be complete by May 30, 2010.
A delivery order amount of $9.1 million as part of an $18.8 million contract for CH-47 mechanical transmissions. Work will be performed in Ridley Park, PA and is expected to be complete by Sept. 30, 2008.
A delivery order amount of $5.2 million as part of a $10.6 million contract for CH-47 mechanical transmissions. Work will be performed in Ridley Park, PA and is expected to be complete by Oct. 30, 2010.
A delivery order amount of $8.6 million as part of a $17.6 million contract for CH-47 head rotary wings. Work will be performed in Ridley Park, PA and is expected to be complete by Aug. 30, 2008.
