CIT Awarded Up To $29.4M for UAV Studies

The California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, CA received a $5.9 million cost-reimbursable contract to support the Naval Postgraduate School’s Center for interdisciplinary remotely-piloted aircraft studies. Work will include technical, engineering, and scientific services for atmospheric and oceanographic research, and will be performed in Monterey, CA (30%); miscellaneous locations (30%); Guthrie, OK (20%); San Diego, CA (10%); and Pasadena, CA (10%). This contract includes 4 one-year options, which would bring the total estimated value of the contract to $29.4 million if exercised. Work is expected to be complete by September 2006, or September 2010 with all options. This contract was a non-competitive procurement through Navy Electronic Commerce Online, with one offer submitted to the Fleet and Industrial Support Center in San Diego, CA (N00244-05-C-0066).
