Dominion Energy won a $27.5 million order for design and construction of Energy Resilience and Conservation Investment Program P505 electrical distribution upgrades at Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, South Carolina, and the implementation of selected energy conservation measures for lighting improvements. Work will be performed in Beaufort, South Carolina, and is expected to be completed by February 2026.
Boeing won a $23.7 million deal, which provides engineering support, logistics management, product support analysis and integration, maintenance planning, technical data, and support equipment maintenance for the P-8A aircraft in support of the Navy and the governments of Australia, Norway, and the United Kingdom. Work will be performed in Jacksonville, Florida; Whidbey Island, Washington; Sigonella, Italy; Sheik Isa Air Base, Bahrain; Kadena, Japan; Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii; Patuxent River, Maryland; Keflavik, Iceland; and Misawa, Japan, and is expected to be completed in September 2024.

Gabon has welcomed its recently ordered Airbus C295 transport aircraft, a significant development that follows the approval of the contract several months ago. The aircraft, bearing the registration TR-KJF, took off from Spain on August 8th and touched down in Libreville, Gabon, on August 11th. However, tracking data indicated that the aircraft was flying in the vicinity of Libreville on August 18th. The impact of the coup that occurred on August 30th on subsequent flight operations remains uncertain.

Ukrainian pilots have completed a first training with Sweden’s Gripen fighter jets, the Scandinavian country said Thursday, although it has not yet confirmed whether Stockholm will donate any of the jets to Kyiv. Sweden said in May that it would invite Ukrainian pilots and ground crew to undergo preliminary training on the jets made by the defense group Saab
The British military was hit by more than six million cyber attacks last year amid the ongoing conflict in Eastern Europe and escalating tensions in Asia. The information was revealed by UK strategic command head General Jim Hockenhull during the Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEI) 2023 conference in London. According to him, the country’s intelligence and security services detected cyber assaults by hostile states and allied criminal gangs “on a daily basis.”

The Republic of Korea is set to acquire a fleet of additional F-35 aircraft and related equipment in a deal valued at approximately $5.06 billion. The approval for this Foreign Military Sale, which includes up to twenty-five F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Conventional Take Off and Landing (CTOL) aircraft, along with twenty-five Pratt & Whitney F135-PW-100 engines to be installed and an additional engine as a spare, was granted by the US State Department. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency, responsible for overseeing such agreements, officially notified Congress of this proposed sale.
