The EADS Group has concluded a contract for the takeover of the French company Sofrelog, through its French leg of the Defence & Security Systems (EADS DS SAS) division. Sofrelog is amongst the market leaders in the provision of solutions for shipping control and coastal surveillance, an area where its recent acquisition Atlas Elektronik had also built a position of strength. That acquisition was recently approved by the EC. Sofrelog supplies harbour and sea traffic control systems plus coastal surveillance systems based on their SYTAR technology.
