US Navy Spends $59.3M for A Broad Range of Submarine Support at Newport News

NN: SSN 708 drydocked(click to view full) Northrop Grumman subsidiary Newport News in Newport News, VA received a $59.3 million cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for planning yard, design, configuration management and logistics support related to its SSN Los Angeles family, Seawolf, and Virginia attack submarines; its SSBN nuclear missile boats; and its SSGN stealth strike submarines. This effort will support new construction, operational support, conversion and decommissioning submarines, and modernization support for operational and decommissioning submarines. Work will be performed in Newport News, VA and is expected to be complete by September 2006. This contract was not competitively procured by the Naval Sea Systems Command in Washington, DC (N00024-06-C-2105).
