$290M “Small Business” Support Award to Alutiiq

In mid-September 2011, Alutiiq 3SG, LLC in Anchorage, AK received a $289.9 million cost-plus-fixed-fee, indefinite-delivery/ indefinite-quantity multiple award small business contract for “global business support.” Alutiiq isn’t what most people would call a small business, but the rules for Alaska Native Corporations allow for manipulation, using holding companies and subsidiaries that can still qualify.
Work involves a wide range of temporary support services…
Alutiiq will provide direct labor, supervision, management, and materials for administrative support and clerical services; quarters management services; healthcare services (excluding doctors, nurses, and physician assistants); information and arts; information technology; instructional and training services; maritime material handling; mechanics and maintenance and repair; plant and system operation; engineering/technical support; mobile equipment operation; financial management; specialized technology; industrial services; and general services and support.
Work under this 100% small business set-aside contract will be performed in the Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming, and is expected to be completed in August 2012 – or August 2014 with all options. $1.2 million will expire at the end of the current fiscal year, On Sept 30/11.
This award is part of a previously announced multiple contract award, which is worth up to $730 million across all 24 companies. Contracts were competitively solicited as a small business only contract via the World Wide Web, with 57 offers received for the entire multiple-award contract by the US Fleet Logistics Center San Diego, Regional Contracts Department in San Diego, CA (N00244-11-D-0045).
