$62.8M in HEMATs: Your Ammo, Sir

HEMAT Trailer Engineered Support Systems (ESSI) subsidiary Systems and Electronics Inc. in St. Louis, MO received the full delivery order amount of $62.8 million as part of a firm-fixed-price contract for the Heavy Expanded Mobility Ammunition Trailer (HEMAT). It includes information about the HEMAT, which can carry MLRS rocket pods, general, ammunition and even fuel for attack helicopter battalions. SEI also makes the trailer launch platform for the Patriot anti-air missile system. Work will be performed in St. Louis, MO and is expected to be complete by Sept. 2, 2010. This was a sole source contract initiated on July 6, 2005 by the U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command in Warren, MI (W56HZV-05-D-0332).
