* UK Defence Secretary Philip Hammond told Germany that he would welcome the development of a bilateral relationship similar to the one Britain has been successfully growing with France in recent past. The House of Lords EU Committee concurs in this report. Bilateral efforts between France and Germany have been in the works for a long time but the results have been underwhelming. Hammond is calling for “the projection of power, including military force” but in the aftermath of WWII Germany has been reluctant to do anything that might look too assertive outside of the economic realm.

* Two F-22 pilots will talk as military whistleblowers about the dangers of hypoxia on CBS’ 60 Minutes on Sunday: “We are waiting for something to happen and if it happens, nobody’s going to be surprised.” Preview video below:
