U.S. Issues Up to $2.1B for Medical & Surgical Supplies

The Defense Supply Center Philadelphia in Philadelphia, PA has just issued 11 firm-fixed-price contracts for distribution of medical surgical supplies to Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, federal civilian agencies, Coast Guard, and other non-DoD organizations. These are all indefinite-quantity type contracts with one 20-month base period, one 20-month option period, and one 32-month option period; the performance completion date for the base period is June 19, 2007. The total value of all contracts is approximately $2.1 billion. The breakdowns of the contracts by region and company are as follows: Global North Region Owens & Minor Medical of Glen Allen, VA received a maximum $396.1 million contract for selection as one of two primary prime vendors for the Global North Region (SP0200-05-D-7000). Work will be performed in Glen Allen, VA; Richmond, VA; Granite City, IL; Indianapolis, IN; Hebron, KY; Savage, MD; Belleville, MI; Raleigh, NC; West Deptford, NJ; Allentown, PA; Knoxville, TN; and Waunakee, WI.
