$600M to 3 Firms for NASIC Intelligence Analysis Work
Northrop Grumman Space and Mission Systems Corp. in Van Nuys, CA, Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corp. in Boulder, CO, and General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems in Dayton, OH received a combined $600 million indefinite delivery/ quantity contract to support the National Air and Space Intelligence Center’s (NASIC) Advanced Technical Exploitation Program (ATEP). NASIC is DoD’s source for air and space intelligence and produces integrated air, space and specialized intelligence to enable military operations, force modernization and policymaking. NASIC provides intelligence directly to operational military units, national and DoD decisionmakers and the research and acquisition community.
The ATEP provides measurement and signature intelligence (MASINT) and advanced geospatial intelligence (AGI) products, services, capabilities, and technical support to the operational, arms control and treaty monitoring, acquisition policy, scientific and technical intelligence communities, and to national defense policy makers. MASINT covers the electro-optical, radar, space object identification, laser, and radio frequency sources and systems. AGI encompasses radar, spectral and infrared data sources and systems.
Under this contract, the companies will provide NASIC with intelligence analysis, software systems development and support, and sensor exploitation research and development of space-based and airborne sensor data for ATEP.
So far, $64,969 has been obligated to both Northrop Grumman and Ball Aerospace, and $64,919 has been obligated to General Dynamics. ASC/PKESI manages the contract (FA8604-09-D-7975; FA5604-09-D-7976; FA8604-09-D-7977).
