Boeing subsidiary McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis, MO has been awarded almost $550 million in non-competitive contracts related to its F/A-18 E/F Super Hornet and EA-18G Electronic Warfare Aircraft. The EA-18G is still on the drawing board, and is slated to replace the USA’s aging EA-6B Prowler. Work on both contracts will be performed in St. Louis, MO. The contracts cover training and weapons systems.
A $500 million not-to-exceed indefinite-delivery/ indefinite-quantity contract covers the procurement of new F/A-18 E/F and EA-18G trainer and training systems. Work covered includes upgrading existing systems, plus a full range of activities, from analysis and simulation to production, refurbishment, and product support of all training systems. Work is expected to be complete in July 2010. The Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division in Orlando, FL issued the contract (N61339-05-D-0003).
A second $49.3 million ceiling-priced, indefinite-delivery/ indefinite-quantity contract covers engineering, technical, and material support for all variants of the F/A-18 and EA-18G weapons systems. Work is expected to be completed in December 2007. The Naval Air Systems Command in Patuxent River, MD issued the contract (N00019-05-D-0002).
