Harper Gets Options on $48.1M Contract for USMC Twentynine Palms Facilities

Harper Construction Company in San Diego, CA received 2 options worth $6.8 million on a previously awarded firm-fixed-price contract (N62473-08-C-2201) for construction of 2 Multi-Battalion Operations Centers at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center (MCAGCC) in Twentynine Palms, CA. The total contract amount after exercise of all options is $48.1 million.
The MCAGCC, which acquired in 2000 the additional responsibilities of Marine Air Ground Task Force Training Command (MAGTFTC), conducts relevant live-fire combined arms training, urban operations, and Joint/Coalition level integration training that promotes operational forces readiness.
Under the 2 options, Harper will provide furniture, fixtures, and equipment for the newly constructed centers. Harper expects to complete the work by October 2010. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Southwest in San Diego, CA manages the contract.
