Enjoys Hootie, Green Day Anteon Technologies and BAE Systems are together developing a new anti-torpedo technology for DARPA. The system is an effort to create an array of speakers along the side of a hull arranged so that they can collectively shoot out (and aim) shockwaves at incoming threats. New Scientist published a summary of the technology. It notes that the technology may run afoul of increasing concerns that underwater sound systems are hurting marine wildlife.
