GBADOC (click to view full) Norwegian firm Kongsberg recently signed a contract valued at NOK 20 m illion (currently about $3.1 million) with the Swedish FMV defense procurement agency for a Ground Based Air Defence Operation Centre (GBADOC). The system will be used by the EU’s new Swedish-led Nordic battle group. This makes Sweden the 4th country to adopt the system, and their GBADOC will be upgraded to include Swedish national links for integration of the SAAB Ericsson Giraffe AMB radar and the RBS-70 Very Short Range Air Defence missile system, as well as higher echelon units. The GBADOC will be delivered in 2007, and is expected to be ready for deployment and the command, control and coordination of air defence assets with international allied nations by January 1, 2008.
