General Dynamics Decision Systems in Scottsdale, AZ received a $13 million modification to a previously awarded contract (M67854-02-C-2052) for the Unit Operations Center (UOC) Program. This modification includes recurring engineering change costs for 27 UOCs.

These integrated, portable command and control centers consisting of shelter, power, cabling, computer and telecom systems, and trailers. These systems are supporting Marine forces in Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF), and also supporting Marines pre-deployment training and testing in the United States. The Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) had previously ordered 37 additional systems to be built in 2005 under this same contract. See all related U.S. contracts and modifications.
Work on this modification will be performed in Scottsdale, AZ and is expected to be complete by May 2006. The Marine Corps Systems Command, Quantico, VA issued this contract modification.
Note that the DoD Defenselink release referred to “Union Operations Centers”; despite the working conditions, we’re pretty sure the Marine Corps. isn’t unionizing any time soon and this was just a typo.
